vampire materialized with no further fanfare. Then again, it was not as though
he needed it.
Shock had Niccolo’s body prickling. He was suddenly cold. His
mouth felt clumsy, his words were nowhere near as authoritative as he would
have liked. “What do you want?”
“My, what a
foolish question. I did say I would be back to fetch you, did I not?”
