It's Been a Long Road...

Today was my big Away to Me Release Blitz in Facebook, and it was a hit! There were many talented authors participating, most from eXtasy Books like Cameron Allie, D.S. Dehel, Amy Romine and my dear friend Maggie Blackbird, as well a new friend of mine named Julie who writes under the name JF Holland. There were a number of laughs and some white hot excerpts. I did a number of draws, so did Julie and Maggie, and we'll be announcing the winners over the weekend.

I am really amazed at how well Away to Me has been received so far. I've had people chomping at the bit for my next book, and I've heard it was worth the wait. It was officially released on eXtasy Books website last Friday (September 20) and is now available at most e-book stores worldwide, as well as print on demand paperbacks from Amazon Canada, Amazon US, and Amazon UK

A huge shock for me came this morning. I was getting a few goodies ready for the Blitz while I was updating things in Facebook, and I was alerted to a tag by our amazing Acquisitions Editor, Nicki.

Away to Me, the story that I said would never be published, has been given the Editor's Choice Seal of Excellence and Enjoyable Reading. It means the editors at eXtasy Books and Devine Destinies loved it, and decided it deserved this honor.

This is what one of the editors said about it:
"This story blew me away from the get-go. Released as part of the new Noted category, the plot encapsulates all the drama that one note can create. Well written, interesting characters and snappy dialogue. What more can you ask for?" ~ Editor
Yes, I'm in shock. I've been told it was a good story, but I never thought it would get published, let alone get the Editor's Choice! This is a *huge* honor to receive. Only one book is chosen for an Editor's Choice each week. eXtasy Books has a ton of talented authors writing for them. To get an Editor's Choice is a big deal for us.

Our Art Director, Angela Waters, added the seal to the cover, and I am tickled to show it off!

It is so pretty! Who the hell thought that my little practice story would do this?

I'm now in the process of updating my promo posters, etc with the new version of the cover on them. I have a lot to do so it will be a while before I have everything updated. I'll share them over time.

For the record, yes, I am going to be at Spookapolooza, which is The Romance Studios' Halloween Bash this year, as an author. It's happening from October 26 to October 31st. I am giving away a number of goodies, and sharing a few extra juicy excerpts from Away to Me... Be there!

I'm still plugging away on Book 2 of the Tri-Town series - having Away to Me receive the Editor's Choice only motivates me to finish the revisions on it and get it sent in ASAP. I want that done so I can focus on finishing a standalone I started last year, and I have a few short story ideas I would like to do for various holidays.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and thank you all to everyone who has given me shout outs the last few weeks, especially today. ♥

The BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Happy weekend, book lovers! I have some great news!

I’m so happy to announce that my second book, the first of my brand-new series, will be released sometime later this year! (I do not have any information or the cover itself, I only signed the contract this past Tuesday!)

I will be sharing an excerpt, the cover, a trailer (with music from WHOM GODS DESTROY), and all other information later on, once I get the approximate release date, and hear from the Art Department about the cover. It takes a few weeks for the assigned editor to get back to me, so I’m not expecting a lot to happen between now and the middle of summer vacation, possibly closer to my birthday in mid-August.

While I wait, I will be working on Book 2, which will be set in Mahone Bay, NS. I was supposed to take the summer off from writing and catch up on my reading… Me and my big mouth for saying that too loud! Oh well. LOL

The thank you list is too long to share… Since I don’t want to leave anyone out, THANK YOU ALL for being there for me AGAIN! I bet a lot of you were getting sick of me promoting only one book… Now I’ll have an entire series to drive people crazy by promoting!

Coming Soon from eXtasy Books...

Away to Me
by V.J. Allison
Book 1 of the Tri-Town Series
Part of the NOTED line by eXtasy Books and Devine Destinies

What happens when your stepdaughter finds out she was adopted?
Do you go looking for her birth family, or do you let it go?

Find out how Neil and his stepdaughter Rikki take a trip to Neil's past, and the woman he once loved.

Away to Me

Sometimes you have to go back to move forward…

“What doesn’t lie? The evidence.”

The evidence in front of Neil Falcon proved that his late wife wasn’t the birth mother of his stepdaughter, Rikki. If Rita lied to him about Rikki’s roots, what else did she hide from him?

The confused pair begin a search that leads them down a road that makes an unexpected backwards turn, to Neil’s past, and the woman who once held his heart.

Kelsey Wagner is shocked to see the man she once adored appear on her doorstep with claims that Rikki may be her biological child. After finding out her daughter wants her to be a part of her life, she agrees, despite her troubled past.

With Neil’s help, Kelsey soon settles into the role of helping him raise their daughter.

Amidst the confusion of raising a teenage daughter and dealing with the antics of a mischievous corgi, the old feelings resurface.

They know their daughter wants them to become a family, but can they make it work?
