Can Max melt the Ice Queen? Should he even try?

Claire Johnson’s dedication to sex—the cornerstone of her career—led her to help found the Center for Sexuality and Sex Practices. Now in her fifties, she knows the Center must keep pace with the rapidly growing Baby Boomer market, so she agrees to go back on camera for a series on sex and aging. But work with her nemesis?

Former English Professor Max Wilson has championed the cause of the Center ever since his now deceased wife sought the Center’s help to rekindle the nearly extinguished sexual flames of their relationship. He loves working on camera and welcomes the challenge to perform with the svelte but icy temptress.

Sparks fly immediately on and off camera. The jury is out on whether either Max or Claire can transform those sparks into a fire of sexual desire for their viewers—let alone for each other.

Betrayed & Scorned by Dominique Lambright - GUEST SPOT!

Good morning book lovers! Today, my friend Dominique Lambright drops by to discuss her book, "Betrayed & Scorned" as well as an upcoming release. Please show her tons of love!

* * * *

Recent Release: Betrayed & Scorned

Publisher: Sizzling Sassy Publications

Release Date: April 20, 2019

Genre: Erotica; Mystery

Why did you write Betrayed & Scorned?

I wrote this book, at first, at random. But as I went further into the story I wanted to create it as more of a challenge for myself in writing from a male's POV, while I, being a woman. I also wanted to shed some light on the fact that men and women get treated differently when it comes to cheating and being unfaithful in relationships. Men only take some backlash and feel only a fraction of hurt that women feel or get thrown onto them for their actions. It's reality but fictional.

How does being an editor affect your writing?

Being an editor is definitely a big help. Many people are unable to fully edit their own work. For the most part this is true, but being able to understand the structure of sentences and how they affect the reader in what ways is a bonus. A lot of times I write like an editor, so I have been told by a few writers. This can be a good or a bad thing. For me it has been very beneficial understanding both the creative and technical sides of writing.

Blurb:

Being a lawyer isn’t easy, and if anyone tells you that it is they might have been sent from the Devil. Tyrone has been a lawyer for a few years now, and the cases seem to really be hitting him hard, one in particular. The pressure to stay top dog at his office and keep his long-time girlfriend turned fiancé, Shaunda, happy becomes a lot on him. It leads him to a stream of sexcapades that he soon regrets.

Just when Tyrone is finally making the right moves in his relationship, things take a turn for the worse. He didn’t realize the magnitude of what that one day at the park would unravel. What he didn’t know about his soon to be wife will determine his next move. Is he shocked by what he didn’t think she was capable of? Is there regret for not seeing or remembering their past? But, when she finds out what he did, will it even matter? Will she even stick around to ask for forgiveness?

A compilation of short stories surrounding Tyrone’s sexcapades and experiences that ultimately intertwine with one another to create a mysterious, yet tantalizing, tale of betrayal and surprises that you will not see coming.

Excerpt:

She pulled her mouth from mine to catch her breath. It was like she had read my mind from earlier when she was kissing on my neck, because next thing I knew she had maneuvered herself between my legs. Unbuttoning and zipping down the zipper she found him; it wasn't hard. She grasped him in her delicate hands and firmly stroked him. I let my head fall back against the couch. I was almost ready to bust. Then, I felt her tongue. Skillfully she twirled her tongue around the head, inching every bit of my manhood into her mouth. I could feel everything. I was in heaven.

She continued to go all the way down to the base of my shaft. She had no reflex I swear. It's like her mouth kept going, there was nothing blocking my passage. I started moving my hips in rhythm with her mouth. I could bust right now on her face. And before I could think about holding on any longer, I released inside her mouth. I was hoping she'd swallow, but she did one better. As I released, she moved her mouth, and my kids ended up all over her face, and she just licked it off.

My mouth hung at that point. Though I finished, I had more in me. And she knew it. Her eyes seemed to turn a dark gray now. The softness had disappeared. I could see she was thirsty for it. The water was already running; I just had to give it to her. With my pants around my ankles, I stepped out of them as I stood up. I yanked the towel from her body. I didn't have any words. All I knew is that I wanted it all. Every part.

About the Author:

My name is Dominique Lambright; I am the owner of DML Editing & Writing. I have a beautiful daughter who keeps me focused on the bigger picture and helps me strive to keep working at being a better person, as well as keeping my dreams afloat. I do everything for her and our future.

I have been writing for as long as I remember. I have loved words since I first learned how to write in Kindergarten. They have become a part of my life that I couldn’t get rid of, even if I wanted to. It has been a consistent hobby turned career choice. I wrote for fun up until about 10th grade in high school, that’s when I knew that I wanted to become a writer professionally. I didn’t quite know how I was going to go about that, but I just knew that was going to be my choice of future work. People would try to discourage me and tell me that I was foolish for wanting to become a writer because writers didn’t make that much money. They sounded crazy to me because of all the books that I had read, and all that was worldwide and best-selling. I didn’t let their words get to me. When I went to college, I enrolled in the English degree program. At first, I chose to do creative writing but changed my mind. I figured if I decided to get my B.A. in English: Technical and Professional Writing, that would look better for the working world. At this time, I got into editing as well. While taking the courses to attain this degree, I also immersed myself in the creative writing electives that they had available to make sure my writing was still progressing.

Well, four and a half years later, I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in December of 2015 with my B.A. in English: Technical and Professional Writing. It was one of the proudest days of my life. I accomplished a great feat, and boy it was not easy. Before I had graduated from college though, my business was a small side hustle. I started in 2012, doing little writing and editing things here and there for a small fee. I had the skills so why not, right? Broke college student trying to make it, ha-ha. As time progressed, it continued to be on and off. During 2014 is when I became more serious about it and tried to get clients outside of college. It went well. I created an account on a site called Thumbtack and went from there. Many people needed the services that I offered, and I knew from there on out I was ready to become a professional business owner. In 2015, I moved away from Thumbtack a bit and officially created my website, dmleditingandwriting.com. I figured if I was going to do this, I was going to do it right. Ever since then, I have been happily continuing to build my clientele and business relationships.

What I love about editing and writing the most, is being a part of the process and helping the author complete their work of art. It’s one thing to be an editor who just makes corrections, but actually, to get into the story and bring out it’s best is so satisfying; it’s a great feeling of accomplishment. I love to read, so over time, I studied the different ways that the authors I like, wrote, and then it became more analytical the more I was discovering what I wanted to do. Which got me thinking of what I could contribute to other authors work. I have read poorly written books, as well as award-winning, five stars, no doubt books. Words amaze me, and it has always been that way.

Nearing THE END... Of Draft One

It's true folks.

I'm almost done another rough draft.

Now this story is about as messy as it can get - think nuclear bomb going off in the middle of an ink factory messy. There's a lot of wordy areas, and spots where I need to make it less choppy - it needs to flow a little better.

Work on a manuscript does *not* stop when one types "THE END" after all. It's a constant process to get it refined... From the wording, to the way the story itself flows, and everything else has to be tweaked to as close as perfect as you can get it before your betas even get a whiff of it.

I have at least two betas from another project lined up for this one already. When asked, both Peapod and a sweet lady I met in one of my old Creed haunts jumped at the chance to help me with this one too. So proud to have them both on the Beta Team, they're like family to me.

I'm down another chapter, and today, I wrote the anticlimax. It was tough to do considering everything, but it's done.

I'm now mulling over how to arrange the lead in to the grand finale. I already know what's going to happen then, so I'm okay.

I do have a working title for it, for the record. I wound up figuring one out the day after I wrote up the previous entry about hating coming up with even a working title. So far it's liked by my Facebook pals. Peapod thinks it's awesome and more catchy than the original one I had planned.

Hopefully I'll be able to type "THE END" into that next week or the week after, and put it in stasis while I go through my ideas list and see which one hooks me next.

*****************

I'm also seeing a chapter end in my life. One that's been going on for a few years.

I'm finally saying "THE END" to work on one of my stories, for good.

You see, I finally found a publisher, one that's giving this little unknown a chance.

My first book is coming out later this year.

I've been going nuts working with the editors at my publisher trying to get this story perfected - from the editing to the proofing and even getting things just so with the way things line up for chapter breaks and so on.

I have also seen the cover proof for it. It's GORGEOUS! The artist who did it pretty much depicts how I pictured the leads since day one. (I cried when I saw it, it's so pretty, and I can't stop looking at it!)

I am seriously in love with that cover. *happy sigh!*

I can't say much else right now. I will post things when I'm given the okay to share everything. I promise!

Not hard to tell I'm excited, huh? *looks innocent*

Have a great weekend, folks. I leave you with my favorite Disturbed song... "STRICKEN"

Renovations

Whoa...

Has it been two months since my last post here? I can't believe I've forgotten to update y'all on what's going on here in my neck of Canada.

First of all, we had a fantastic holiday season. It wasn't overly cold, we had a green holiday. No complaints here!

The reason why I haven't been around lately is that we're in the middle of reorganizing our house. We're finally able to get some work done on it, and because of that, I want to get this house shipshape inside and out. I've spent the last two months or so just getting rid of STUFF. Stuff we no longer use, stuff that's broken, clothing and toys my son has outgrown, and anything else we don't need or want.

The most recent project is the closet under the stairs. I'm currently going through all of the boxes, etc in there, sorting out what to keep and what to toss. So far, the toss piles have been MUCH bigger than the keep ones! For example, I found an entire large recycling bag FULL of empty 200 g tobacco cans - the plastic modern ones. I was saving them for something... What, I don't remember. We decided keeping three or four of them was okay for Hubby's projects like nails, screws, etc, and we're recycling the rest, or giving them away to anyone who wants them.

We checked all of the cans to make sure they were empty and we took the plastic liners out of them, they can't be recycled... When I was doing one can, I stuck my nose into it and took a whiff.

I used to love the smell of tobacco. Not anymore. I sneezed and gagged. Hubby thought it was great, because it's a sign of how far I've come in the last two years. Hard to believe that I'm almost 19 months into my quit. Yes, I'm still rolling with it, despite efforts to get me hooked on the nicodemon again...

Meh, karma's a bitch, need I say more? ;)

I hope to eventually put a lot of stuff we don't use a lot but like to keep handy in there - notably my stand up mixer, the coffee makers, and in time, a cabinet for canned goods - and some of Hubby's stuff too.

I've been working on ideas, etc for Fourteen... It's slow going, but I think I'm starting to get how to proceed and the most logical way to work the "what if?" thing.

I've been told to "ease" back into it considering how sick I was this past year, and how low my creative energy has been until recently. Rebuild that writing muscle slowly, by doing a little at a time until I'm back to spec kind of thing. Ideas, and a quick write up of a short scene - even if they are not used - is all I'm doing right now... Even though I'm going somewhat batty from not writing.

... SQUIRREL!!!....

^Damn things are always distracting me, even from my conversations with my best pal........

Something else I've started doing is cleaning out some of the pages I follow on Facebook. A lot of them have been sharing CRAP and I'm sick of it.

For example, if your page has a theme of "hot guys" and talk about sex, etc, DO THAT... NOT share stuff like "He Found Out He was Dating His Brother!", and "Woman Cheats, Gets Pregnant, and Blames Jesus for Knocking Her Up" (Seriously, those two stories actually showed up on one of the hot guys pages I used to follow, just this morning and within half an hour of each other!).... If you have a music page, TALK ABOUT MUSIC, or share videos and photos, etc of MUSIC (any genre), NOT crap like "This looks ordinary until they finish, amazing!", or "Fat Guy Breaks Couch"... PUKE.

As for my author page (I had to retire from ALL of the other ones in 2014 due to illness, and EVERY post on the author page is ME talking, not my other admins, they only moderate and watch if I'm offline or if I need backup for a troll)... If I don't have anything to share, I don't share anything. Yeah, I promote music as well as talk about writing, publishing, reading and other author related stuff on it, but anyone who follows me KNOWS I am a huge music person, and it's as vital to life as reading and writing are... And the theme of my page is "Love Is the Music of the Heart", as is the url for this blog AND my Facebook author page. I don't share bullshit like the pages I'm clearing off, nor do I make jabs at other people on it at all... yeah, I do it sometimes here but NEVER directly on the page or my author profile. Just sayin'. ;)

I will say that there are some excellent pages on FB, and one not only shares pics of yummy men, but she also shares Freebies for Kindles in the Amazon bookstore... The US one, but I can still get the books for a small price Canadian... And I have.

I have the Kindle app on my Acer tablet, well, the old one and the new one. (More on the "new" one in a sec).

You'd be surprised at the amount of GOOD books you can get for free or for a small price on there... Even Canadian prices are excellent. I purchased a few at Christmas for the Kindle on the old tablet, and let's just say that some were pretty darn "steamy" - a collection of short stories written by one particular author comes to mind... I am not even halfway through the one collection yet, and I'm about 25 stories into it. I have a couple of more on there waiting for me too. All good stuff, or I'm hoping they are. I've discovered I like MMF erotica books... The full "mix" to boot. Never thought I'd see the day when I said that! LOL

Okay... What happened with the old tablet is that a couple of weeks ago, I had it sitting on the computer desk, and well, it kind of got knocked down by Cat. Son noticed the cracks in the screen and when I tried to get it working again, it wouldn't.

Hubby wasn't happy... But promised me we could get another one.

So we have another tablet, the exact same brand, model and color as the old one, with a few differences, as well as similarities....

The new one has its own hard case, and has an extended warranty on it. It also has a few new things on it, like the newest version of a game that Son and I love to play on the desktop computer.

I got most of the old games back, without having to pay for them. Same with my Kindle content - Thank heavens! LOL

The old one didn't have the warranty or a case... I was going to get one after the holidays but didn't have the chance to before CAT happened.

The warranty I purchased with the tablet will cover "Acts of Cat". I double checked with the young man who sold it to me, to be sure. If anything happens to it before February of 2019, including Idiot Cat knocking it off the computer desk and smashing the screen on my chair somehow again, they will replace it at no charge, with no questions asked.

For the record, the tablet is an Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770, with 1GB of RAM and a 16 GB hard drive, but it also has a micro SD port... I have an 8GB card in it now but may upgrade to a 16GB card in time. It's white... I was going to get a black case for it - I love black - but since I'm not a fan of monochrome, I went with a case that's PURPLE. It's pretty!

I do love purple... Tee hee...

And here's the old tablet, after "ACT OF CAT" struck it.......

Yeah, not pretty, is it? :(

I hope this new one lasts me a VERY long time!

Have a great week everyone!

Endurance Training

Another week and more progress, both in real life and the story idea I've dubbed "Thirteen".

Bowling Saturday night was a blast. I did really well despite being rusty, it was the first time I went to any alley in about six or so months. Hubby and I bowled three strings each - Son was at his grandmother's so we could have "date night" - and although I was sore, it was worth it.

We do the "Candlepin" style of bowling, which is more prominent than the "duckpin" in my area. Candlepin is played mostly in the northern New England States and the Canadian Maritime Provinces, mostly in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The pins are straight sided, the balls are smaller, and from what I understand, it's a somewhat more difficult game. No record of a perfect score of 300 has been recorded to my knowledge to this day in the game.

I have never played the duckpin version. We do not have an alley that has it in my county, and as far as I know, there is only ONE alley that has it in the entire province.

Anyway...................................................................................

Evidence I'm losing weight was really prominent that night. I shook my hand to alleviate some numbness from carpal tunnel syndrome, and my hematite ring flew off of my finger. Thankfully it didn't go far, and the alley wasn't crowded - Hubby and I were the only ones in there at the time.

My jeans kept wanting to slide down over my hips too. Yeah, that was really fun, trying to bowl and trying to keep the jeans up at the same time.

And what was my tightest pair of jeans that still fit me are now getting looser too... They were trying to fall down during Wednesday's walk.

I think it's time to invest in a belt...

My wedding ring is starting to get really loose too. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to wear that on the middle finger and get another ring for the ring finger. *blink*

Maybe it's all of the walking I'm doing, the healthier eating and the fact I do not each much processed food and NO fast food these days??? :)

Whatever. It's working so far, and I'm determined to keep rolling with this. Not too fast, because it'll come back a lot easier then.

In the last week, my energy level has improved by 100%. I feel like doing more and more each day, like heavy stuff around the house and lots of it, and I tend to be more "awake" now, on less sleep than I was getting before I snapped out of the fog I was in all summer.

Yeah, the walks are helping, a lot.

I am still going to the stream and back, and will continue to do just that short route until I'm so used to it that I'm barely winded when I reach my driveway. I did it three times this week, and even added a little extra to the route, so I am slowly getting there.

I just want to build up my endurance before going nuts with the walking.

I'm also retraining for writing endurance. I had three days this week and it was rough getting into the swing of things.

That said, I managed to get a full scene written in two days, after fighting not to write it up. It's a scene that happens later on in the story, and one I hadn't planned on writing up yet. I wanted to get more added to the main file before I did anything else.

Oh well, at least I was writing, right? ;)

My best friend helped me brainstorm that scene once she and I clued in that it was NOT going to leave me alone until I wrote it up. Thanks to her, I managed to figure out a lot of dynamics, and how to lead into it, as well as exactly *what* happens, etc.

She and I plan on brainstorming more when the time is right, and when Son isn't looking over my shoulder. He's getting more and more curious about what I'm writing about, and well, it's not fit for youngsters, if y'all know what I mean. ;)

The scene itself is about 1800 words, over 1000 of that was added today in only an hour.

Wish I would have been able to settle into it earlier than I had, I would have hit the 2K mark for today alone had my brain wanted to stop running around like a bloody squirrel on crack.... *SIGH*

Anyway, I hope all of my fellow Canadians had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving...

It's hard to believe that Halloween, Samhain and the rest of the days of the dead are almost upon us. This summer went by so darn fast.

Have a great weekend everyone. :)
